Just about to try first fox full mount. How do you do the tail and foot area. Not sure at all about either. Does the tail itself actually get used in the mount, or do you skin it out and replace it with a fake one? Any help would be great..

You have to skin the tail out. Skin and get the first inch or two of the tail started. I use to big nails like 16 common's, lay one on each side and grab them where the tail is inbetween your fingers and your fingers are wrapped around the nails to keep them from spreading. Put a steady pull on it holding the carcus under the tail. Once to get it started a steady pull should slip it right out. They also sell a tool for this.
The feet, you will have to skin all the way to the toenail, be careful and take your time. Some do and some don't but I always make a cut from the back of the pad up the back of the leg about 3 or 4 inches to help me get the foot out. For me it's easier.
Hope that helps some.
I just finished my second fox. I pulled the tail out and then split the tail so that I could salt inside. Afterwards I resewed the tail and slid a artifical tail in. I bought the tails from WASCO. Also, I skinned each toe down to the toenail and fleshed out each toe pad. Then I used clay to fill the toes and feet back in.
