DP FOR MAMMALS

Submitted by AJ on 02/09/2004. ( ) 198.93.212.151

I KNOW EVERYONE HAS DIFFERENT OPINIONS ON TANNING VS DRY PRESERVE SO I DON'T WANT TO START THAT ARGUMENT AGAIN. IT SOUNDS LIKE TANNED HIDES ARE PREFERRED FOR MOUNTING DEER BECAUSE OF SHRINKAGE AND SUCH, BUT DOES THAT STAND FOR MAMMALS SUCH AS FOX AND COYOTES? I DIDN'T KNOW IF IT WOULD BE THE SAME FOR ALL ANIMALS.I'M JUST TRYING TO GET SOME OPINIONS WITHOUT GETTING SLAMMED OR STARTING ANY TROUBLE HERE. I AM A HOBBIEST BUT I TRY TO DO MY HOMEWORK TO GET THE BEST RESULTS. AGAIN, THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR YOU'RE HELP NOW AND IN THE PAST. (DAMN I LOVE THIS FORUM!)

Click off your Caps Lock key and type normally where we can understand what your saying. IF you read the bottom of this page, the rules ask you NOT to type in all caps. By the way, click that orange icon that says SEARCH and type in DP for Mammals and you'll see that's been covered in some detail.

DP is great

DP will work just fine in half the time. Just be sure and keep a close eye on it around the face and keep up with your work, and you will never know the difference. wash it good. that is one advantage to tanning is the hide goes through so many soaks it usually looks cleaner and brighter than DP. Although with some scrubbing time with Dawn it will also look very nice with DP as well.
