bobcat and fox ear turning

I am just beginning an attempt to mount a fox and bobcat and was wondering if I needed to totally remove the cartilage from the ears of these animals or just skin out the back side of the ears to the edges any info would be appreciated. Thanks

if your going to use a liner, you will want to remove the cartilage
if your going to use the bondo or other medium methode you can leave it in, anyway i would open those ears and tan before removing the cartilage, ears on these specimens can be prone to slippage, i think
you will be safer to tann 1st. just an opinion on my part
