Hi i have mounted 5 squirrels now but i always use dry preservative or borax. and i am starting to get tired of the DP getting in the hair and me having to blow it all back out after mounting. So i am going to start using LIqua tan. I have all my lifesize and deer capes sent off to a tannery but i want to just use liqua on rabbits a squirrels i do for fun and show sometimes. What are all the thing i will need for thr tanning proces? just the liqua tan? I know it says on the bottle but i wsn to know what i all need so i can order it along with the liqua tan. Any need to Neutralize/ pickle with squirrels? any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Thank you alot Dave but i still have the question of.. Do i need to pickle and neutralize a squirrel if it is fleshed well? Or is the pickling more for thicker skinned animals such as deer? it says optional but will it still turn out nice on a squirrel with out pickling? Thanks

David

Pickle always pickle.

The section on squirrel mounting read the part where he says the tanning and he doesnt say anything about pickling... Is he wrong? im not thinking so since he is a pro squirrer taxidermist.. I really do not want to bother with the ph and pickling and neutralizing i might just hae to do the krowtann so i dont have to worry about all this.
