Help with Cow skull

My daughter gave us a perfectly cleaned cow skull and we want to preserve it and hang it in our rec room. Do we have to preserve it with any varnish or shellac, it seems to be flaking and I want to keep it in the proper manner. Also if the teeth are loose how do I glue them back in to the jaw bone. what products do I use. Also what is the best way to mount it? Thanks so much for any info you can provide to a novice like me...

more than likely the skull was whitened in either bleach, or too strong of peroxide. Bleach causes the bone to begin flaking, and you might not be able to stop it as it is a chemical reaction occuring within the bone itself from the chlorine, and you just cant wash it off.

you can use white elmers glue in the tooth sockets, works just as well as anything else
