broken fox ear already mounted

I picked up a baby mounted fox from a garage sale and the ear is broken. I do bird and fish taxidermy but don't know how to repair this ear. Any suggestions? Thanks, Sandy

Sandy, Lots of variables here since we don't know age, general condition or how the fox was prepared. You could wrap the ear with a wet rag for a day or two, bend it to proper shape, sew if feasable or make touch up repair with Apoxie clay. If wetting it seems too risky you could just fill with the Apoxie. Anytime you work on older mounts you must realize there is the chance for complete loss of the area you work on but then, "nothing ventured- nothing gained". Enjoy, Aaron H.
