Stuffing domestic PUSSY CAT

Submitted by Stacey on 04/07/2004 at 17:55. ( )

My cat of 19 years passed on recently.I have found a taxidermist who will do the work if I can find the mannikin. She was a large cat of nearly 15lbs. I would like to see her in a sleeping position.PLEASE HELP!

Try Touchstone Taxidermy Supply. I believe they have some cat forms.

My question to you is if your going to pay this person to mount your pet , why do you have to find the mannikin. I suggest asking your taxidermist about freeze drying. Personally I would be a little sceptical if he or she did not suggest this service. Also how about a carcass cast or your taxidermist should be able to make a form. Ask many questions to insure a life-like mount. One last thing to keep in mind about pet preservation make sure this is the right thing to do to your beloved pet.

good luck

I agree with Wildwood on your choosen taxidermist not knowing what they are doing!

I am going to assume a couple of things which are almost 99% correct in every case.

Your taxidermist has very limited skill.not many skills to begin with)

2nd. Taxidermist don't know who makes house cats forms? (warning signal!)

3rd. Taxidermist don't know how to make the form? (Carcass casting is not that hard)

Ok there you have it three strikes, I feel pretty sure you are going to be OUT. Out your time, out your money and out your cat.

The price for domestic animals is normally higher a lot higher, expect to pay upwards of $800.00 for a quality mount.

Take into consideration YOU have been with your cats unique facial expressions for NINETEEN years. The cat will never look like you remember. Even sleeping. Especially with stated taxidermist asking you to find a form. That's the brightest red light I've seen in a long time.
