Having trouble rehydrating two year old commerical hide.

I am having problems rehydrating a two year old commercialy tanned deer hide that I received. It is much smaller than it should be. I tried using cold salt water for 45 minutes. That did not seem to work. Should I leave it in for longer? I need to ractivate it and stretch it back out. The question is how?

You need to sweat it out.

Goto the tanning archives and it will be there. It needs to be soaked in the water for about 30 minutes and then bag it up in a plastic bag and refridgerate overnite. I throw a handful of salt in mine. That should rehydrate it for you.

Thanks
