I am doing a squirrel mount as part of my display for a competition anyway i didnt want to shoot one because i dont want no wound because this mount will be a major piece of my display if i trap one in a trap what is the best way to kill it without shooting it

The "best" way other than dispatching it cleanly is to drop the wire cage into a pond with a rock atop it. Everything else is going to be a really bad scene as a squirrel will not go easily. Use a .17 pellet gun to the back of the head. It's the most humane way.
Hi joe, There are plenty of squirrels being sold here on the forum and they are basically cheap. You could buy a couple of them and could pick the best one for a competition mount. Good luck.
