Fill Method

Im a begginig taxidermist and i was wondering what the fill method is. And how to do it Thanks Tyler

The fill method you're referring to has to do with fish. I never use the fill method on mammals. Either carve your form from a rigid foam like floatation billets, or buy your foam from a supplier. Carcass cast it, or wrap your own bodies with wood wool, or excelsior, or you can purchase a form from the many suppliers.

For animals, it's using vermiculite, sand, foam, cotton or SOMETHING to fill the body skin. For fish, it's a half-cast method. If you click that orange icon to the left that says SEARCH, type in "fill method". Be warned, however, that there are 836 separate posts mentioning this method. Several have very good explanations or you could buy the Breakthrough books on small mammals and have a permanent copy.
