I am new to mammal taxidermy and have decided to begin with something fairly small like a Fox Squirrel. I have done birds for years and have gotten them down pretty good and now I'm ready to dabble in mammals. I think that I've got a pretty good game plan for my squirrel, but I was wondering what eyes everyone preffers and how should the eyes be canted in the eye sockets? The reason that I ask is that I didn't have time to take caliper measurements of the specimen after I harvested him. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Dana

These work great and you don't have to "cant" anything. Since they're spherical, they're already looking which ever way your clay and eyeset dictate.
Most taxidermists prefer the Black Hollow Bubble from Tohickon for Squirrels, and they aren't expensive.
