I am an avid hunter and am starting to get into antler art. Right now I have various antlers from game I have harvested as well as sheds. Most of these antlers are pretty white from age or the sun. Can anyone give me some pointers on which kind of stains to use. Also, should I do anything to the antlers before staining or can I directly stain the antlers. Thanks for any and all help.

I could go on and on about the many ways of staining, repair ECT. but all the info you need is in the past forums. Look to the left, click the orange button (search),then type in antler stain, repair ECT. It's all there. Vic
the best stain that has the best color, that I have found is potassium permanganate and mix it with water or alcohol,I use alcohol and it makes a very natural looking color ,P.S. don`t get it on your skin or you will be stained and it will have to wear off hope this helps Steve Snelgrooes
