Iwould like to know if its better to leave your hides salted until your ready to tan or should you tan your hides and then rehydrate when your ready to mount them and what way do you think will last longer Ive heard mixed answers

1) you should salt it four 4 hrs, shake off and resalt for another 8 hrs, then you can put it pickle or brine solution, then apply tanning cream leave over night in a bag and throw it in the freezer in the morning.
2) or you can just salt the hide and leave it be until you want to tan it, if you do it this way you will have to rehydrate the hide in brine solution until pliable then tan.
3)or just skin out hide and throw back into the freezer and take it out when you are ready and do step #1.
i do both step 1 and 3 but it depends on what you want
