Bobcat rehydration question

I was given a bobcat skin that was tanned ""sulphuric acid type tan " Skin has a golden colour. The ears /lips / eyes were never split. The feet are partially fleshed out. There is no decay or slippage on this hide.
QUESTION ? Can I put this in my citric acid pickle and soften it up enough that I can split the lips etc.?

Since your S-Acid tan is only a pickle, I would rehydrate for 2hrs or so in H2O and weak salt solution, followed, by turning lips and ears and skining out paws. Be quick about this (turning), say one hour max. Next I would tan skin in a vat solution with Lutan-F or other.
