I am in the market to purchase a sewing machine for bear rugs (getting tired of doing them by hand). I saw the Juki TL 98E online and it looks pretty heavy duty. Anyone have a favorite machine or advise?

trey a glue gun if you do it right ,it will work good.
That Juki is the way to go! You'll have all the speed and power you want and none of thw JUNK output and BAD NAME that the glue gun will give you. (just check the archives for people complaining about glue-gun rugs)
Industrial quality from a brand that's been around a while and is well-respected with professional fiber artists.
The Juki can handle 4-6 oz. leather thickness plus padding plus heavy thread with the right walking foot. Go for it.
I think they are $899 + s/h which will pay for itself in 3-4 bears or 10-12 coons.
Check eBay before you buy from a dealer, buying from a dealer is recommended though.
Yes I agree about the sewing machine ,but IF you know what you are doing with the PROPER glue sticks you will have no problems.
