Hopefully you don't have that form yet and or you can return it. I would get a form that matches your hide measurements, then I would alter to the laying position. Much easier that way. Good luck!
I am not sure if you already have the form or not.I think the best way to attack a project like that is to find a laying down form, the right size for your cat, that is as close as you can find to the desired pose-then alter that.It is very important in cases like this to make sure you own every possible catalog available that might have forms for the animals that you work on.I can't stress this enough. Many times people struggle over projects like this, when actually someone has a form that is exactly what they need or at least close.Once you have all the catalogs, familiarize yourself with them and when a project like this comes up you know just where to go and just what to tell a customer when you discuss price etc..My second choice for a plan of attack would be to get the best standing form(anatomy-wise)that is the correct size for your cat,and alter that. You have to be pretty good at alterations to pull this one off and make it look right. It is hard to do an alteration like this and have the animal look as relaxed and soft as a reclining cat is in life.It can be done though, if you are willing to put in the time, and hopefully the customer is willing to pay for your efforts. But it does take time and usually lots of it.The other option is to cut down your larger form and that,s not too bad an option either. It is easier if you order it without leg rods and get a changeout head of the correct size for your cat.Good luck.
