Eye color of Spotted Genet . . .

I'm about to mount a spotted genet I took in Africa. The supply catalogue says that the proper eye for a spotted genet is the same as a red fox. I should have looked closer at the eyes on mine before I skinned him, but I think I would have remembered if they were red.

Since they look so much like out ringtail cat, I would have thought that the black bubble eyes would have been used.

Any genet experts out there?

Thanks!

Jerry S.

The genet eyes should be a dark brown.Grey fox eyes in the appropriate size for your genet should be about right.

I Have seen some (though not often) with dark brown... but

Most of them I have seen (including our live genets we kept for pets) have had a red brown eyes simalure to a red fox. McKenzie's roger Martin red fox color is the closest I have seen.

Here is a link to some genet photos.
