Hello.
I am recieving comments that my pig mounts that are 'too clean'looking. I dont do anything to them out of the norm during tanning.
I do ask each client if they would like them a la natural with the dirt and mud on them as they did when hunted but usually get told no.
What do others do in this situation?

Sometimes if the teeth are left white, they look too clean.take a Q-tip and put some burnt sienna oil paint on them and make the flesh in the mouth a little brown also. The hair should look clean like you have it.Just those two changes should fix the problem.
Thanks, was starting to get that 'doubt myself' feeling, lol.
I dont usually clean up the tusks/teeth other than the simmer to get them out and leave them with the dirt on.still trying hard to convince them to use repros here.
Some guys ask "how much shampoo did you use" and laugh!
Will have a go with your tip though.
the next person who's telling you that the pig looks too clean, tell them:" Ok let's go and roll it around in the mud for a while. That'll fix it." Wonder how they'll react. LOL
Samantha,
Once all the airbrushing has been done, dust the entire mount with brown powdered tempera paint. Using your airbrush, lightly blow off the excess. Then use a damp cloth to remove the residue from the hair. This will give you a dirty (not so shiny)look. I've also read that you can use red tinted cement for this procedure but haven't tried it myself. Good luck.
