Persian Lambs Wool Coat

I have just acquired my grandmother's persian lambs wool coat. It is very dirty and smells of cigarette smoke. Is there some way I can clean this myself? My intentions are to make a keepsake teddy bear out of it therefore I don't want to have to go to the expense having it cleaned by a professional.

You can start by putting in your dryer- NO HEAT, for about 30 min. Then give it fresh and air sunshine for a few weeks, preferably in a screened porch.

I don't get it

Why would you want to craft up, let alone "keep", a dirty keepsake? Yuck. Either buy one for 9 bucks off eBay (they are everywhere and they are almost unsaleable) and replace the stinkin' thing or get it cleaned up. Up in Canada the furriers will do it for like 29 bucks, it's not expensive. Do your memories right and they stay happy memories.

It is cheaper to have done. WQhen you figure your cleaning supplies, trip to the store, and your time, what is it gonna cost to get dry cleaned 20.00?
