regulations on African skins already in the USA

I was wondering what the regualtions are, if any, about the handling of African skins once they have already been shipped into the USA. My assumption is that once the skins have cleared customs, I would not need any special permits in order to do the taxidermy work on them.

Thanks
Chris

Chris, that's true in my state, but it's always wise to check with YOUR state to insure that's the case. Many states have antiquated and feel-good laws on the books that could put you at odds with the bunny cops in your area. Check first.

I believe it

also depends on what animals you are selling.
I think you have to get aproval to sell to anouther state any animal that was imported under a Cities Permit.

As George stated always check before you sell.

Look in the phone book under federal & find Fish & Wildlife Enforcement .
They can tell you what you can & cant do.
