As long as you can find someone that will pay you more than the fine will be for killing them now. Seriously, you sound relatively new to this game. Coons are furbearers in many states and thus, are managed under harvest regulations and seasons. Coon season won't be for several more weeks because the pelts are not prime yet. Before you get too gung ho about whacking racoons, check with your state wildlife authority to find out the legalities of doing so, licensure requirements, etc..

To answer your questions in order, No, Very little, and no.

Coons are a dime a dozen...

...in most places. All anybody that needs one has to do is ride the backroads first thing in the morning, and get the roadkills.

I shot a big old coon in my back yard on about october 5. i skinned it and it seemed like the skin was good with real nice fur. up here in the northeast, coon season starts on 10/1 so maybe early cold weather gets a good coat of fur on the coons early. now i,ve got the pelt scraped down and it has been pickled in an alum solution.how much do you think this pelt might be worth? (when i skinned it, i didn't skin the face and when i went pull the tail skin off, it just tore where it was connected to the main part of the pelt.)
