skinning the feet of mammals

I was wondering how most people handle the paw and toes of life size skinned animals. When you are pulling the skin down your legs, you can only get so far before it gets too tight.Do you cut through the foot bones at that point and then make a separate incision to clean the rest of the foot and the fat in the pads? I dont leave my email on here because of all the viruses I got last time I did that.Any input would be great.

You need to make a small relief cut on the back of the leg. You'll never tube the whole leg.

On certaim mammals you don`t have to make any cuts at all...racoons,bobcats,mink---non of these require a split to invert the feet...coyotes and fox ya have too make a cut..on yotes I start my cut right before the ankle area...on the front legs I start it just below the elbow...

i do it all the time

i skin bobcats all the time all 4 legs without making relief cuts, just remember to free the dew claw on the front legs. fox and yotes i can tube the front legs all the way down but need a relief cut after the hock on the back legs.
