What will stop a finished full mount liqua-tanned bear from smelling? Cranky customers wife complaining.

Get rid of the wife. LOL
What smell is she complaining about-the tanning chemicals or bear odor?
We've covered this problem under several different categories and it's usually the same root cause: HOME TANNING. I used to tan my own bears using industrial techniques, and it worked, but it was just too damned much work. Bears are just better done commercially than most of us can or would manage at home in the shop. Trust me on this one, the bear wasn't sufficiently degreased and now you're hearing the results. You've got problems on this one I fear. It's time to start talking refund unless you can reclaim the mount and rework that hide. It won't "just go away".
The smell is not too stong at all but this wife didn't want it in her living room in the first place. It sounds to me like she is looking for a reason to gripe. Just looking for something to keep her happy.
Although I don't agree with George about in shop tanning I do agree with him on the cause of your smell.Insufficiant degreasing is more than likely the culprit. And he's also right that it's not going away. You can TRY washing the mount down but chances are it's not the hair.More likely it's under the skin,so you do have a problem.Good luck.
You can try getting the mount back and washing it with colman fuel and then after drying it use Malogon spray on it. The supply companies sell it. Home tanning bears is a penny smart and a million stupid for a professional, unless you are set up as big time with the tools and equipment as a tannery.
