i haven't rehydrated yet but i bot a mt lion with 33-36" bellie - it is dry tanned and only measures 25" now - will i be able to get it back to 33" after hydrating

If the measurement you got from the seller is ligit,it should go.If he was only speculating how much it will stretch,who knows.Every tan is different and every individual skin can be different too.Most tans will stretch 25%.Some go as much as 40%,but I wouldn't count on it.At 25% stretch your hide should go 31"+,so I think you might make it.Remember,36" is a great big cat and you won't see a lot of those.Most females don't go over 30".It will also depend a lot on how long the cat stretched out when hung at the tannery(I mean how much longer than his original carcass length).There just are a lot of variables to consider.You need to soak the skin and find out for yourself,before you order a form.Don't take anyone elses word for it.You are the one who's going to have to sew the thing up.Good luck.
