what is the best way to attach african skull plates to the form. the skulls are so small and brittle, i am also worried about screw heads sticking up. in particular i am going to work on a steinbok and a duiker.
thanks

I always fill the brain cavity

I used Bondo reinforced with fiberglass chop on thin skulls. I just pour it in and then when it kicks off, I trim it with a large butcher knife before it hardens completely. Once cured, THEN I drill it and set it in place.

JUST BONDO

them in place. To do this....cut the skull to fit the form head plate. Use a stout ruffer or something like it to clean and rough up the foam surface....or wood surface so that the bondo will adhere.
If the foam surface is not roughed up bondo will no adhere to it.
Using Bondo......place a layer on top of the form.....fill up the brain cavity on the skull and place it on the form........align the skull so that it will be correct.....and let harden.....Wallah....instant set of the skull with no screws...and it will not come off. Sometimes I use a piece of duct tape to tape from one side of the form over the skull and down on the other side of the form to hold the skull in place while the bondo sets.

thanks guys
