try mixing sardines with feed store molasses and peanut butter. Depending on how much you want to make, usual mixture is one-third of each in combination. I recommend that you use near a crossing/trail where you find plenty of tracks. I use it along creeks and drainages where the coon search for food. The scent lingers there for a while so you can get multible catches from one baiting. Good luck, have fun and be careful!
but you better be prepared to catch alot of cats and skunks and possums too....
I think marshmallows and apples and even catfood are better baits for singling out just coons. It drastically reduces catching house cats and dogs. You don't really need a lure just set it on a trail and bait around it. Coons follow trails, when you use a lure it usually lures in what you don't want to catch.
