You'll likely never find that in the archives. Any animal that is skinned out still requires the ear work to be done during the prep stages. You need to attend some seminars or buy some videos.
I am still skinning, i know about skinning and mounting. i have done several full body mounts just never a wall hung. i know i need turn the ears I am just not sure what to do after tanning and oiling.
turn the ears as you would for a regular taxidermy mount - leave the cartilage in.
.
We're just getting you to the prep part before the tanning. You STILL have to mount the ears as you would on any other mount.
Do you mean, just a pelt that is put on the wall? i.e. a wallhanger.
You don't have to do anything with the ears at all.
You could turn them if you wanted the option to mount at a later date, but it's not necessary at all.
Ross, When I do a wallhanger it is just tanned. I skin it all out, split tails, turn ears the whole thing but I do not line ears or mount feet unless someone wants it done and then I would charge for the extra work. I don't know anyone who lines the ears on wallhanging skins as a basic service, but probably some do. Enjoy, Aaron H.
