Besides a professional tannery, what's the best way to tan a bobcat. Would you use liqua-tan, krowtan, or any other suggestions would be appreciated.
Or is it best just to go with the tannery? Looking for some opinions.

It seams today that the options are endless when it comes to tanning. If you can wait a while the tanneries do a great job and they will make it softer then you can on your own unless you have 6-8ft tumblers. If your going to tan it to mount it softness will not matter. I have used alot of liqua tan and love the stuff. It does what I expect it to for mounting purposes and some wall hung skins. I guess one would have to decide what they expect from the tan and what they will be using the tanned skin for. I have read tons of posts on krowtann. I would use it with out hesitation. I plan to try it some time soon myself but have no need for it right now. My method works no since fixing whats not broke. Tanning is very enjoyable and rewarding when done right. I sugjest that you choose a tanning process that will fit your shop or home and try one. Or prep it and send it. Jack F
Bobcats tan easy in my opinion. Lot less likely to slip then fox or coyote.
We use Krowtann on bobcats, I also put the Krow oil on them, freeze them if not going to mount immediately, rinse the oil out when ready to mount, then mount. Works easily and look great.
i use curatan it is easy and fairly cheap. they are pretty soft and turn out nice for hangings or rugs . yes i have t agree that bobcats are easier to tan than foxes. not nearly as likly to slip
