what caused the white belly hair on fox and coyote to turn an ugly red? is that blood staining? is there a whitening process that can be used in home tanning to make it nice and white again?

was it that way before you tanned. if not did you use a metal container to pickle or tann it in?anyways Van Dykes has a few things that will work on the fur to get it back with with out bleaching it and losing the hair or damaging it.
Are you talking about the natural coloration that red fox and coyotes have around the groin, in the white hair? If so, thats already there. I might be misunderstanding you, though. Its a reddish tinge that hair gets.
yes, it is a reddish tint in the groin area. i did not know it was natural because i dont see it on all of the fox/yotes that i do. i guess the misunderstanding is on my part, thanks
now i wont spend hours trying to wash it out LOL
