I am a beginner and have a badger to work on, my question is on the eyes would you split just like a deer and is the eye work somewhat like on a deer but a smaller level?

Lester do the same as you would with a deer. Basically it's the same procedure with all mammals. When I flesh around the eye I shave toward the eyelid all around leaving some mebrane to tuck under the clay that I've modeled around the glass eye. Good luck!
