i have a unfleshed black bear hide thats been in the freezer to long .head and neck are dried up and can,t get them fleshed.bear hasn,t been salted. can i soak in salt water or maybe krowtan to soften this up without worrying about slippage? thanks for your help

Glen Conly at Whitetail Designer Systems sells a product called Stop Rot as well as a couple other magical formulas that you should try if the warm salt water solution doesn't work. You don't need or want to introduce any exceptionally high OR low pH solutions to that hide right now.
