I'm looking to do some rugging with small mammals. Are there any newer books or websites or anyone willing to share their secrets of what they do for the felt backing on the rugs. Do you use just strips of felt or large squares and end up with a lot of scraps? Do you sew or glue? Where are the best prices for the materials? And any other tips or suggestions. Thnaks!

Is the easy part . Look at braintan.com or if you use other ways to tan , if you make it to the felt part , you are doing fine . Bradlee
I've got the head mounting and the tanning part down. I just need some knowledge on the rest of it. Thanks.

The rugging IS the hard part. Thats why most people send them out. I was interested in it though so I purchased a dvd from www.taxidermyvideos.com It's a well made dvd and gives good instruction from fleshing all the way to the rugging. Theres not many good instructional tools for this so enjoy the research I already did! Peace- Jeff F.
I also bought a DVD on rugging from www.taxidermyvideos.com and it was very helpful. The fella does a good job explaining each technique. Good video quality as well.
