non-iodized salt?

I have a few skins to salt after skining I have heard to use non-iodized salt for this. I went to the local farmers union and got a 50 lb bag of mortons purex salt. It does not say anything on the bag about iodized or not but the guys at the store say all salt has some in it. Just wondering if anybody has used the mortons purex before. Thanks,Bill

If it is fine salt(table salt texture) it will do the job. Non-iodized salt is recomended because it is normally cheaper!

And your friend is WRONG

All salt DOES NOT HAVE IODINE IN IT. In fact, if salt DOES have iodine in it, it MUST BE LISTED ON THE CONTAINER. Iodine is added in minute quantities to fight goiter.
