Is it alwyas a pain with badgers while skinning and turning the lower jaw lips? I skinned one last night and had such a hard time turning the lower jaw since there was hardly any gum or lip meat at the front of the jaw. What does everyone else do? The mount is going to be open mouth so I'm assusming I can just fill in with epoxy where there isn't enought lip?

Badgers are just smaller animals with smaller lips.Just split what is there and like you say, later use epoxy putty to blend in.Just don't give them more lip than they really have.I take it,you haven't done any weasels yet!?
that way you can get the scalpel right down along the gum line & around the nose. then I go back and dorsal cut skinning the rest you get past the eyes and you done.I have an open mouth badger to do and I just bought the nose and jaws sets from McKenzie with this set you will end up cutting the nose and lips at the hair line and gluing them on the form it's kinda costly but I hope to make it up in less time spent mounting and a better finished job for the client
A badger is a mammal. With some exception, all mammals have similar oral tissue. In short, you seen one, ya seen 'em all, bud. Mammals come in all sizes and their mouths do too. There is, to the best of my knowledge nothing about a badger that is any different from any other carnivorous mammal, except for proportions. Wink gave you some routine advice.....skin the head, cut along the gum line to separate the skull from the hide, invert and then split the lip membranes.....
