I have only mounted small game in which I used dry- preservative. When dry tanning a deer cape, how do you rehydrate. I heard you could just spray water on it.

never put a rehydrated cape in the fridge.Rehydrate in water w/small amount of bactericide added for 2hrs then depending on thickness.
drain excess roll up and cover w/damp toweluntil skin is completely
rehydrated.
