Coon Eyes <----> How Far?

How far apart are a coons eyes on average anyone know?
I just mounted one and they look a little far apart for my likings maybe its just me?

Hey Ord, I don't have any reference on hand right now for the distance between a coon's eyes, but remember next time to take that measurement before skinning the varmint. Good luck!

when you skin the animal out keep the head.i always cut the head of of the body put in a ziplock bag and in the freezer.that way when i mount it i always have that as a reference for the eyes and the ear position.

Our memory is not good reference

That's why it is imperative that all taxidermists have a good reference library and in some cases 3D reference. I suggest next time to cast a simple death mask out of plaster of paris. Then you can refer to it for more than just the eyes. The angle and cant of the eyes is also important and if set improperly will make a mount look funny.
