I am tanning a grey fox tonight and wanted to know if i should remove the cartilage before i tan it, or just leave it in and remove after tanning, or not even remove it at all. If i have to take it out, when should i remove it, after tanning, after oiling or after tumbling?

Matt if you decide to remove it, do so after tanning. It will be easier to remove. If it is going to be a wall hanging you can leave it in, just be sure you oil it well. After it dries it will harden so if you want the ears to be in a desired shape, form them as the skin dries.
