fleshing fox to thin

Is there such thing as fleshing a fox to thin. It seems that the belly side of fox that have been fleshed is so thin. I just had a red that had globs of hair pull out in the belly area after i got all the flesh off of it. In the future should i leave some of the membrane on and tan it.

Fleshing a fox isn't really nesessary except to where your getting off all the fat and red meat. The fox being such a thin skin animal really shouldn't be fleshed like a thicker skin animal. All I do is skin, then remove any and all fat and meat. Then I salt the hide down and get it ready for tanning. Some taxidermist swear with DPing the hide then mounting. But I personally like to tan all my fox.
