What do you guys recommend the easiest way to skin out the bears paws. I worked hard on one paw for an hour and didnt get it done so through it back in the freezer. I want to keep the claws in place also for a rug. I was think about just cutting the hide and sewing it up later, what do you think? Thanks

cut the pads off, then if you cut the web between the toes it is easy to get to that last joint. it takes a few to get the hang of it.

as you skin down through the pads exposing the bones of the hand. Cut at the finger joints and seperate each finger. One at a time place the ends of each bone in a vice. This allows you two free hands to pull and cut as you skin down to the nail. I use a heavyer vice witch I can move were ever I need to and stays put on my work table. I do this the same for all mammals that I mount for lifesize.
