i havea large bobcat that was my first fullbody mount. the question i have is this.can i somehow rehydrate the head, and remount it. the problem is i believe that i should have modified the head to make it smaller . the rest of it looks perfect, but the head looks too tight. can i remount the head to make it more fluffy. i mounted it four years ago thank you for any advise ...bob m.

BoB M, Remounting the head on your bobcat will be somewhat risky since it has been mounted for 4 years. I think it comes down to, if you are ok with the possability that it will go bad and you end up throwing it all out or not. Assuming you want to take the risk, wrap the head/neck up in a wet rag and keep it damp for a few days till the skin rehydrates. Check it well each day and go to work on it as soon as it's soft. The real plus here is the learning opportunity. If it fails you still can learn from it and if you succeed you will like the cat more. Particular problems to consider include the type adhesive you used, skin prep (tanned or dp), old damaged/repaired areas among others. On a personal level I would go for it. The risk would not outweigh the benefit for me. Enjoy, Aaron H.
thanks aaron for the advise, i'm going to give it a try.
