Have searched the red button but my question is. How can you really make the face on a whitetail look fleshy as in soft? I have used acrylics, oils, built up brows etc with clays and putties fleshed face area close and added modge podge for a wet look still I'm not getting the life like real look I want. Has anyone thought or tried laying latex or rubber in specific areas of the face to give a fleshy soft look? How is this done? Thanks.

is to back brush the face. This lifts the hair and gives the face a overall softer look. This is one step that I saw missing in your description above. I normally start doing this the next day after mounting. Remember, you are setting the position of the hairs, so the back brushing moves the hair into a standing position. As the mount dries, the position of the hair will set. The effect is better if the back brushing is started during the dring process. You can still brush dry mounts and get a good effect.
