I saw a fellas selling them on ebay (Ranch rasied) for $125-$175. That's too much?
fur publications. I agree, It takes a vey nice fox to bring $60. Just remeber, buying furs is like buying a used car. You need to ask yourself, Why is this trapper driving or e-mailing all over to sell his hides when he can go to be fur buyer? Answer, Just like selling used cars, the scammer, usually, is trying to NEGOTIATE a far higher price than blue book.
My expreience many times has been that the trapper feels he has the biggest and badest hides and isn't going to let the regional fur buyers give him what it is most likely worth. Most of the time I find that the are asking atleast double what it is worth. There is also a story that floats around that taxidermist are willing to pay double the going rate and The trapper doesn't even have to skin or flesh it. Pretty good story. This scam is pretty much over for the year, but look back in the postings and you will see some very unrealistic prices and usually a defensive, angry trapper antaginizing people if they speak up about the truth.
