I have tanned a coyote and have kept the feet on it. I have only got the bone and fat off up to the toes and the toe fat is still on. Does anyone have advice on how to keep the foot and claws on coyotes.

Joe, If you got the toe bone out fully all you have to do is salt it real good. This will set the hair around the toe and the nail will stay intact, Sometimes the tannery will lose one, but they are rough with just about all the hides they process. I do several bears a year and I just make sure I have the bone completly removed down to the nail, I then fill the toe cavity with salt, even though a bear is real fat I have yet to encounter a problem in my shop. Hope this helps.
