Measuring skin off carcass

So I have this green coyote cape that I bought but it was not measured before skinning. How much shrinkage do you think there would be on the eye-nose measurements after skinning. I measured it and got 3 3/4 in. This would be a normal small male coyote measurement but I thought the measurement might be off a little since it is skinned. Think it would shrink much? Any help would be appreciated. This is my first attempt at a coyote.Peace Love Happiness, Sam

On a larger animal like a deer or bear I would go a little conservative with the eye to nose measurement, but with an animal the size of a coyote I think I would go with that measurement.I can't picture it being a lot smaller.I would also check the neck measurement of your skin against neck measurements of forms with the 3 3/4" nose to eye measurement. This may give you a hint if you are on the right track.Normally I wouldn't expect a lot of shrinkage, but sometimes a hide wrapped around a form isn't quite as long as one flat on a table.

Thanks!
