Wolf Rug?

Submitted by Charley on 4/7/05 at 12:50 AM. ( Charley011583@yahoo.com ) 68.11.56.19

I have a Wolf skinn that is tanned, I ordered the supplies to make the rug and Van Dyke is making the head and mount insert, they sent the rest of the supplies already. Can I hydrate the hyde, do most of the rug work, then re-hydrate it again to do the head work when those supplies come in? I don't want to keep re-hydrating it, in fear of the fur slipping.
Thanks in advance!

Head first

Hi Charley,
Always mount your head first, rehydrating only the head area to be mounted. After that is dry, then rehydrate the rest of the body to do any skin repairs and stretch the back hide.I just wrote two articles in the last two Breakthrough Magazines regarding rug making that would help you tremendously. Feel free to e-mail or call me with any questions.
Best Regards,
