I just received two corsican capes back from the tannery,(my first ones)What is the trick as to cleaning out all the debris that is matted down in that wooly hair, mostly deep down near the skin. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Shear them or get busy with the curry comb.

Wool Card

I have done a couple of the wooley type corsicans. They were not solid wool like Dorsset but had patches of it. The best thing I found was a "wool card". It is a brush that they use to fluff the wool on show sheep when they shear them. Be carefull using it because if you get it in a bind it does not care if it pulls out wool or hair. I brush mine with a regular brush when they are wet nut when they are almost dry I use the card. A "Scotch Comb" works well also. You can get both of them at the local feed store.

thanks!
