Question about Bobcat wall hanger

Submitted by J Randall on 4/12/05 at 10:12 PM. ( ) 63.157.24.43

I have searched the archives and I know that the best way to attach a felt backing on a rug is to sew, but I am mounting a bobcat on a rug shell that is to be left stiff and hung on the wall and they didn't ask for any kind of backing but I wanted to put some felt on it to avoid any possible stain on the wall and I wanted to know if anyone had tried using the spray glue that is used to attach vinyl tops on cars? I made some motorcycle seats and the guy at the upholstery shop told me to use it to glue the cover on the seats and it worked great they have held up for four years now with no problems. I thought it might work to attach the felt backing, but I still wanted to know if anyone had any experience or thoughts on this?
Thanks

glue and felt on rug

J Randall, I haven't used any spray glue like you describe but a little hot glue will do the job, just be sure not to apply too heavily as it can soak through the felt unless it is the heavy felt. Keep all glue lines a little inside the edge of the tanned skin so it doesn't show. Enjoy, Aaron H.
