I have just completed a mountain lion rug, and I just noticed a couple of pine pitch patches. What is the best thing to remove the pitch without damaging the fur?

Use a solvent like acetone,I'm sure others would work as well.Suirt on,brush out.

After the hide cameback from the tannery it still had pine resin on it? Some of the deer around here get pine or cedar resin on them and I use mineral spirits to remove it before tanning.
