I've never tried putting someone's work down but I'll bet your better at it than I would be!

Oh Bobbie

If you havent noticed , Terryr has been with us for quite some time . Seems to be a nice enough guy to . Contributions to the forum are occasional but always respectful . If you have never mounted a bobcat what makes you so sure you are so much better ? We need to be on the same side regardless of work experience, prices, ethics , personal opinions etc . I have also made comments like yours , in the past . I guess I am trying to be more aware of the things I say now before I open my big mouth ! It is a reflection of ones character in my opinion . My thoughts only.

Coot, that's exactly what I try to convey to judges

Sometimes, individually, we fail to recognize that a certain piece of work is out there that, at that time, was the very best piece we'd ever done. Surely, the earlier in our careers, the worse they look now, but AT THAT TIME, it was the best we could do.

As a judge or as a consumer we're too often enticed to say,"Lady, you got one buttugly baby there." when in reality, we'd never do that. So when you look at a piece, you should act as if that person were standing right there. When someone tells me that my work sucks, I'm often reminded of Lee Marvin's comment to Ralph Bellamy in the western "The Professionals". Bellamy told him Marvin he was an SOB to which Marvin replied, "Yes sir, I was born that way. But you sir, are a self made man." I guess I was just born this way.

Let's see, Bobbi, 100% feedback, all satisfied. If his mounts are not up to your standards, then lower your standards. Seems as though all his customers are happy as clams, so what is your beef. Jealous?

I don't like the mount either, but so what he took clear pics and at all angles. You see what you are getting, customers have different tastes in what they think looks good, some like fish that look painted and others want them just natrual as the fish look when caught, It is all a matter of opinion. Me personaly, I don't think it is that good of a Bobcat mount, but guess what I am looking at 6 mounts in my room right now that I don't think look good, my first few mounts. Even if the Bobcat mount is not from a beginner, so what, big deal if it didn't come out great, he didn't do it for a customer so who cares? Maybe he didn't want to spend the time on that cat, maybe he was trying something new and it didn't work, he might as well sell it instead of pitching it in the trash.
I don't mind hunesty but man don't do it just to pick yourself up!
Lets see some of your Bobcat mounts, oh yeah YOU HAVE NEVER DONE ONE!

My apologies to Terryr

If I offended you for my comments about your work...however to Dirt, you stated....If his mounts are not up to your standards, then lower your standards. Seems as though all his customers are happy as clams, so what is your beef. Jealous? "

As a licensed taxidermist I will never lower my standards. Trying to achieve perfection is what every taxidermist worth anything should strive for. To make every mount as close to the live animal it was, is my goal. Jealous? No....not at all.

I have also sold things on Ebay, not taxidermy related but also have a 100% rating...which in both our cases boils down to being honest about what your selling and shipping it in a timely manner.
