Getting rid of the 'edge'

Submitted by samantha on 5/17/05 at 2:13 AM. ( ) 211.27.78.234

I've got round to using a cast lip fox form but i am not very happy with the result around the lip/nose edge.
Skin was thinned adequetly, it just looks obvious the the gums are fake at the skin/gum edge.
How do you guys merge the two? A tiny dab of apoxie and a light spray with the air brush?
My husband, never seeing on of these before, thought the lips looked to 'shiney/plasticy'.

Go around the lip line with it to hide any inperfections. Once you have it around. Take a paper towel and role it over it and it will give it a wrinkle look. Air brush the color of your choice and your done.

Most people cut the nose, lip off directly where the hair and the skin meet. When you do that, you've set yourself up for an "edge". Instead, leave a thin line of skin. This skin can be shaved super thin without worrying about cutting hair follicles. When you go to install the skin, lay that thin skin OVER the cast nose and lip line, pulling the hair up to where the cast edge is. Once you glue the skin down, the hair "edge" will cover the cast edge. When dry, take your scalpel and shave the skin down even farther, cover with Apoxie and texture. A regular towel will do a remarkable job on texturing the nose, while wetting your finger will smooth your lip line down.

Doing it this way eliminates the transition line and no one will look at the area where the transition actually takes place.

after your mount has dried this edge becomes apparent, do as above mentioned but before gluing take a blow drier and dry this transition area, kind of pre shrinking so to speak and the glue will also adhere better, leaving less "edge" to become visable

great
